Binning Open House

The Land Conservancy is hosting an open house at the B.C. Binning residence on Canada Day.

The National Historic site will be open from 1-4pm, with guided tours by Matthew Soules happening at 1:30pm and 3pm.

It's an opportunity to see the home and work of one of our original modernists and to support the good work of The Land Conservancy.

SALA Show

The School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at UBC is currently showing SALA Works - a collection of faculty projects - at the Or Gallery.

The show is curated by Matthew Soules and is an opportunity to see what's percolating in the realm of architecture and design on campus.

SALA Works runs until March 15.

The City Going Green

The latest installment in Adele Weder's ongoing architecture series for the Tyee focuses on EcoMetropolitanism, an intruiging concept developed by Mari Fujita and Matthew Soules that explores a more wholistic integration of the natural world into our urban environment.

It's big picture dreaming, but is a compelling re-imagining of a relationship whose parts are too often compartmentalized.
